Thursday Thunks.

1. You walk into a room, someone turns and looks at you and laughs. What do you do?

Take a bow. It is nice that someone else recognizes the comedic genius that I possess. (And if you buy that I have a real estate deal that I want to discuss with you.)

2. You find an egg, take it home and keep it warm. It hatches. What type of dinosaur is it? Do you keep it and name?

Whatever kind of dinosaur that Fred Flintstone had. Of course i would name it Dino. If that was good enough for Fred it is good enough for me.

3. Which superhero would you want to be related to and why?

Batman. That way you would not have any financial troubles and if anyone messed with you, Batman comes for a visit.

4. A drunken sailor comes up to you on the pier...he begins harassing you in a most repulsive way....what'll be your defense?

A simple push off the pier will give him a chance to reconsider the evils of alcohol.

5. Entering a CLASS A piano bar, you're encouraged to sing atop the grand instrument...you grab the microphone and sing.....

My Way.

6. If you were a character in a Dr. Seuss book/movie, who would you be and why?

Horton. I am always hearing things.

7. If you have just been called to be a substitute in the Winter Olympics for your country (apparently everyone else was busy), what sport(s) will you compete in?

If they are calling me in for an athletic competition they are extremely desperate. 4 man bobsled.

8. Did the audience from the piano bar in question #5 applaud when you were done with your song?

Audience? What audience? They stampeded out after I started singing.

Thursday Thunks.

1. Pants on the Ground....

is your sign to go buy a new belt.

2. To compliment Kimber's question from last week.... have you ever fell down the stairs?

Yes. Fortunately the only thing I bruised was my dignity. They were outdoors and ice covered. That is one of the things that i don't miss about living in Illinois.

3. Have you ever written to a company about their product? Ever called them?

I have never written but I did call Proctor & Gamble once. One of the ladies from the church I was attending at the time claimed to have seen the CEO of P&G on the Phil Donahue show where he claimed 5% of their profits went to the church of Satan. They sent me a booklet disclaiming that.

4. Your rabbit goes to the vet. Ok, you take them to the vet... most pets wouldn't go on their own. The vet tells you that your species has cancer. Do you:

* a. tell them to pull out the needle and put them to sleep on the spot
* b. take them home and let them live out their life until the end
* c. same as b. except you don't let them get to the suffering stage
* d. go full steam ahead with cancer treatments

C. I would find out how long he had before he got very bad. I would also keep a close watch on him and not let him suffer much, even though I did threaten to make him into rabbit stew once.

5. What is your favorite comfort food?

Sausage and pepperoni pizza on a thin crust.

6. If your child was put in jail for putting a gun in their spouses mouth and pulling the trigger (even though the gun wasn't loaded), strangling them and breaking their arm... would you post bail for them?

I never fathered any children. I have three step-children, but since their mother died they don't talk to me. However, had we still been in touch, no I wouldn't. If they did that they need time to contemplate their actions.

7. If elephants had wings, how many feathers do you think they would have on each wing?

That is a silly question. Everyone knows that it is their ears that enable elephants to fly, and there are no feathers on them.

8. Is there anything growing in your refrigerator right now?

Had you asked last week I would have said yes. After almost being pulled into the refrigerator then I cleaned it out.

9. What did you do with your Thursdays while we were on a break?

Just posted the usual nonsense that I do most every day.

10. Would you donate to the Kimber Ark Building Fund and donate wood? She is about to float away after all...

Just let me know what kind of boards you need.

11. If I were to send you a letter and I wanted to put a little heart sticker on the back of the envelope, what color sticker would you like it to be?

Green.

Thursday Thunks.

1. Build It Yourself Coffin Kits. Creepy, interesting, cost effective, your new hobby?

Cost effective and a good idea if. My Dad had talked about being buried in a plain wooden coffin. He had read where that was what Billy Graham had been buried in and thought it was a good idea. The cost of coffins can be extremely high. He asked my brother to build him one, but my brother declined. I understand why he did. We were able to get one and at the visitation several people commented on how much they liked the idea and when their time came that is what they wanted.

2. Can you blow up a balloon under water?

Possibly, but since I am allergic to drowning I wouldn't try.

3. Why do you think when naming citrus fruit they simply named an orange the color it is?

The person in charge of naming things was out to lunch. His assistant had always wanted to name a fruit after its color and took the opportunity to do so.

4. Insanity Cafe's topic of the day on Tuesday was this article. Have you ever known someone to do something embarrassingly stupid like that?

No one I know has even come close to doing that, at least as far as I know.

5. If you got stranded high on a mountain in the snow, how many snowmen would you make? Would you name them and talk to them?

I wouldn't make any. My hands were frostbit when I was 13 and I quit doing things like that afterwords. If there were any one there I wouldn't talk to them. The voices in my head would get jealous.

6. Have you ever tripped and fell while walking up the stairs?

I am glad you specified upstairs. No.

7. If you were to make your own currency what would it look like, what would you call it and would you give some to your fellow Thursday Thunkers?

I would call it counterfeit, with a picture of Al Capone on the front and Alcatraz on the back. You could have all you wanted after signing a waiver absolving me of all responsibility.

8. Have you ever made a Mr. Potato Head from a real potato?

No, but my wife once tried using a sweet potato as a plant. It didn't do to well.

Thursday Thunks-Two For The Price Of One.

I forgot to do this last week, so the first one will be last weeks followed by the current one.

1. Sometimes when you are sitting around doing nothing, a thought randomly pops into your head. How many measuring cups do you own?

2. A one cup and a two cup.

2. What is your favorite ice cream topping?

Hershey's chocolate syrup. Normally I am not a brand person but here it does make a difference.

3. Egg nog - is it digestible?

No. It is one of the nastiest substances known to man.

4. Were you one of the insane humans who went to a store last Friday?

Of course I was, but only because I was paid to be there.

5. There are 12 months in a year, anywhere from 28 - 31 days in a month, depending on the year, of course. Each day holds a special meaning for someone, some days hold a special meaning for everybody. Do you have a 2010 calendar yet?

Not yet. I normally don't buy one for myself. My Lady does that for me.

6. Kids are funny sometimes and say the darndest things, but it's OK because they are kids and they are so adorable. A two year old is cute when they say a swear word. Admit it, they are. What was your favorite nursery rhyme growing up? Hey - if you don't have a favorite, just work with me here and pick the first one that fell off the wall and broke like an egg or came out of the sky like a cow who just jumped over the moon.

Does The Hokey Pokey count?

7. Most of us have some type of machine that people like to call 'vehicles'. Some are blue, some are yellow, some are red. Some have trunks, some have beds and some even can't decide if they are a car or a truck. We put gas in them, check the oil and drive them all over the place and stop them in places called parking spots. Picture in your mind the machine you currently own and if you own more than one, picture the one you last drove - when was the last time you had a new tire on it?

I have only had my car for two years and new tires were put on it just before I got it.

8. For those of us on Facebook, do you wish to share your Facebook identity with us?

I have one but I haven't been on it in over a year. I do have a MySpace page that you can visit.

9. Santa's coming! Where's the best place to hide presents? Any clever little tricks for keeping those nosey people from ruining the surprise?

My Dad once hid a piano from my Mom. They had bought a new freezer. Dad took the cardboard box that it came in and set it up in a corner of the basement. Of course Mom looked behind it. Dad told everyone about that. I have two brothers and we each told individually. He told her brothers, Grandma, his sisters, anyone he could think of, knowing there would be no way Mom would look there again. Then he got the piano and put it behind the box. On Christmas day he sent Mom down to look behind it.
Off topic, my spellchecker did not recognize Santa's. It offered as an alternative Satan's.

10. Have you heard that the world is going to end in 2012? Some people think that the world isn't actually going to go BOOM! and be no more, they think that the "end of the world" is actually going to be a worldwide takeover by a certain country and/or religion, which all has to do with the current president of the USA. Do you agree?

No. I think it will end like T.S. Eliot said in The Hollow Man.
"This is the way the world ends.
This is the way the world ends.
This is the way the world ends.
Not with a bang, but with a whimper."

11. Butterfly, butterfly fluttering through the air, please don't land on my freshly washed hair. What brand of shampoo did you use this morning? (and for those of you who still stink.. think of yesterday morning... and if that still doesn't apply to you - go get your stinky butt in the shower!)

White Rain Ocean Mist. Since I don't have much hair I buy whatever I find at Dollar Tree.

Now this weeks questions.

1. Isn't showing a condom commercial during Sex Rehab With Dr Drew almost like showing a pain narcotic or an alcohol commercial during Intervention?

Of course it is, but they are reaching their target audience, those who swear I am not that bad.

2. Burger King and Ronald McDonald met Colonel Sanders in a dark alley. They beat him down for just serving chicken and not sharing his "11 herbs & spices". The Colonel goes down. Begs for his life. Where do they go to eat afterwards?

They go to Hardee's so they can taste what a really good burger is like.

3. You take a shower, go to leave the bathroom and the door is stuck. Due to humidity and moisture it won't budge. It will not open. No one else is home. You can't go out the window. How long do you sit in the bathroom and how do you occupy your time?

Who closes the door?

4. You are a rock star, but you need a cool rocker name. What is it and how did you decide on that name?

I would take a name from Harlan Ellison's book Spider Kiss, Stag Preston.

5. Have you ever gotten naked at a family function?

No.

6. If purple ate yellow, what color would come out?

I am not sue, but I definitely wouldn't look stunning in it.

7. The closest paper and pen to you right now. What color are they?

The paper is yellow and the pen is blue.

8. Corn chips or potato chips?

9 times out of 10, potato, but then a bag of corn for variety.

9. You are forced to swallow either a diamond or a piece of coal. Don't ask. Just do it. Which do you choose?

Coal. When I was little my Grandma had a coal burning stove that heated her house. I was told I would go to the coal bucket and eat some of it.

10. If your mouse decided to attack your keyboard, who would win?

The mouse of course. It has better mobility.

Thursday Thunks.

1. If you won a brand new house in a Dream House Giveaway would you move into it, sell it to pay the taxes and make a profit, rent it out or give it to a family member/friend who might need it?

Considering I live in a three room apartment, I would live in it myself.

2. Are you good at billiards?

That depends on your definition of billiards. If carom billiards, with no pockets, I have never played. With pockets, I used to be fairly good. I haven't played in many years.

3. Does anyone on the planet really want to see Levi Johnston naked in Playgirl (other than when Bristol Palin did)?

If I did I would have to bleach my brain to get that image out.

4. Is your phone ringing right now?

It is 3:52 A.M. I would be worried if it was.

5. Do you think man has eaten or tried to eat every type of animal on the face of the earth at one point or another? If not, what don't you think man has tried?

I don't think there is anything that someone hasn't tried. If something new is found, Anthony Bourdain would be first in line to try it.

6. The new movie Avatar has been showing sneak peeks and been hyped to the max. Will you see it?

I think James Cameron is an over-rated director and I have no intention of seeing it.

7. If a slightly bigger fish eats a small fish, then a bigger fish immediately eats that one, then an even bigger fish immediately eats that fish and then finally a huge fish eats the one that just ate that fish and it gets caught by you... how many meals will you have from that one fish?

None. I don't fish because I will not clean them.

8. If you had an appointment with the doctor and all the plants in the office were dead, would you still see the doctor?

He would be my kind of doctor. I kill plants too. My wife olved plants. One of the first things I did after she died was to give her plants away.

9. Have you ever seen the number 666 in a dream?

No.

10. "At 20 years of age the will reigns, at 30 the wit, at 40 the judgment."~ Benjamin Franklin
So what happens at 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100?

At 50 your inner child, at 60 denial, at 70 acceptance, at 80 enjoyment, at 90 relief, at 100 the bowels. If the bowels aren't working you aren't living.

11. Would you want your phone number to be (area code) 123-4567?

No way. You would get too many calls from people playing with their phones.

Thursday Thunks.

1. Thursday Thunks is written by 2 insane women (Berleen & Kimber) that have never met face to face yet are best friends. One lives in Minnesota and the other in Arizona. They keep trying to convince each other to move to their state. What color house will Berleen have here in Arizona? Nothing is better than a simple white house.

2. Do you dream in black & white or color, and how do you know your brain isn't just playing games with you?

I rarely remember my dreams, but the ones I do are in color. My brain does play games with me, but it more me trying to remember someones name and my brain plays keep away.

3. Does bubble gum lose it's flavor on the bedpost?

I wouldn't know. I don't chew gum. It gives me a headache.

4. We're buying Underoos. Which superhero do you pick?

A perfect question for a comic book fan. I prefer the DC heroes over the Marvel ones, and you can't beat the granddaddy of them all, Superman.

5. Do you think if you yell loud enough while watching your favorite sporting event, it makes a difference in the outcome of the event?

Of course it does. Don't you believe in the power of positive thinking? Of course you have to take into count that I also believe in Santa Claus, The Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy.

6. Is the word gullible in the dictionary?

I am not falling for that one.

7. If you could pick any currancy to be the face on which currancy would it be?

The one dollar bill. That way I am on the one that people see the most.

8. What was your imaginary friend's name as a kid, and did they ever annoy you or just us?

I annoyed my imaginary friend so much he left.

9. Do you think it's ironic that the poop deck is in the rear of the ship?

It wouldn't make much sense to be in the front, would it?

Thursday Thunks.

I found this blog through my friend Dana's blog. It looked like fun and thought I would try. I have seen where some people criticize meme's and personal lists. If you are one of those you really are not going to like my blog for the next four days. (You have been warned.)

1. Mad Cow disease, Bird Flu, Swine Flu...what barnyard animal will cause the next big outbreak of disease?

I think there will be a huge outbreak of crow's feet.

2. Sesame Street turns 40 this month. If you were to be on Sesame Street, which character would you want to be in a scene with?

Oscar The Grouch. I love his attitude.

3. We are out shopping for a new laptop. Which one do you pick and why?

I have never had one and don't plan on getting one.

4. Have you ever dried a flower in a book (pressing)? If so what was the flower and the name of the book?

I never have.

5. Do you think it's important to study other planets? If so, why or why not?

No. I think we need to focus more on this planet.

6. Have you ever walked out of a movie at the theater? What was the movie, how much was the ticket and why did you walk out?

Once, because of She Who Left In The Middle Of The Night. We saw about two-thirds of The Incredibles and she said she didn't like it and we left. I think the tickets were about $5.00 a piece. It was a matinee. I liked the movie and enjoyed watching it on DVD after she had left.

7. Does the city/town you live in have traffic enforcement cameras? Have you ever gotten a citation/ticket/fine from one? If so, did you pay or fight it?

They don't have them here.

8. If your neighbor is having a baby would you buy a baby gift for them?

I live in an apartment building where we pay by the week. My neighbors come and go so fast that I rarely get to know them. The fact that I work third shift contributes to that too.

9. How many questions are too many questions?

This one was one too many. Seriously, whenever I help train someone at Wal-Mart I tell them to ask anything that they don't know.

10. Do you have a handwritten journal you write in everyday?

No.

11. Have you already made plans for 2010?

I have a few, which I have hinted about, But nothing I am going to disclose at this time.

12. Thursday Thunks has a huge party for all those who play along each week. Where is the party, how long does it last and does Kimber fall off the roof dropping crayons? If so, what color of crayon does she fall on?

Since this is my first time playing here I don't know anyone well enough to answer. After I post this I am going to start getting to know the others.

13. We may have "blogger celebrity" questions in the near future. Are you excited?

No, mainly because I don't know you consider a "blogger celebrity".

I had fun doing this and I am planning on doing it again next week.
